Darrell Bentley - February 2nd Meeting.

The program scheduled for February will be cover the Spring Creeks and small stream fishing in Missouri presented by Darrell Bentley.

Darrell Bentley began fly fishing around 1959 on the Spring River and small warm water creeks around the Ozarks. He started tying fly’s in the 1970’s, and making trout baits. He reps for Leland’s Lure’s and is on staff at Jerry Cooks Custom Rod Building and Fly Shop in Salem Missouri.

A native of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Darrell served in the U.S Army in Vietnam before beginning a 38 year career in law enforcement.  He served as a State Park Ranger for the state of Missouri and retired in 2009. Since then, he set up and worked in at the first fly shop on the upper Current River.

Mr. Bentley loves introducing people to the sport (art!) of fly fishing. He provides classes on fly fishing that introduce young and old to the enjoyment of the sport. He is a strong supporter of Catch and Release fishing, even in the put and take fisheries.
