Summer Camp, June 21 & 22, 2014

At the end of our last few youth camps, a common comment we receive is, "Who will take me fishing?" What a dilemma! We've just spent three days introducing kids age 10 - 15 to entomolgy, fly tying and fly fishing. And then leave them to pursue the sport on their own.

To address that problem, White River Chapter 698 is changing the format of their summer camp. This year it will be known as the Generation Camp. Each child attending must be accompanied by an adult. The adult can be a parent, grandparent, another adult relative or friend. The adult simply needs the desire to be a mentor and have an interest in conservation and trout fishing.

Activities will be planned to include the child and adult for part of the day - and then learning sessions will be held separately for the child and the adult. The two day camp will be free of charge - and fishing equipment will be provided for the weekend.

Our goal is to provide a casual/fun atmosphere introducing the pleasures of conservation and trout fishing that attendees can continue to pursue long after the camp has ended.
